Wrocław is full of adventure. Steven Spielberg used Wrocław to recreate 1950’s Berlin in his oscar-winning film, Bridge of Spies. “We had a blast in Wrocław and we will surely be back” – declared the director in the guest book of the trendy, Monopol Hotel.
Wrocław is inspiring. Tom Hanks was delighted with Wrocław and its seasonal Christmas market and said that he would love to spend more time here.
Wrocław is a place for keeping up appearances. Winston Churchill was invited to Wrocław in 1906 to watch manoeuvres of the German army in Silesia. Word has it that he was highly worried about what to wear for the occasion. He arrived in the city with a leopard skin parade uniform of the Queen’s Royal Hussars and a hat feathering of the Duke of Marlborough.
Wrocław has many attractions. Giacomo Casanova, the famous master of seduction, was himself seduced by the city. He fell in love here with a pretty, ‘demoissele’.
Wrocław is waiting for you. Take a stroll around and let the city amaze you. The walk could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship,
but perhaps much more.
