In the Field (1914-1915)

This diary depicts the life of a French lieutenant during the first four months of World War I.The events described occurred from August 28, 1914 until December 25, 1914 and describes a soldier filled with nationalistic pride and very little idea of the battlefield he was sent to. Many of the descriptions, actions and sentiments he wrote of make for a gripping tale of the Great War.
